The Impact of a Comprehensive Sexual Health Education Program on STI Knowledge and Attitudes among Philadelphia’s Proud Teens
Principal Findings To address the critical gap in comprehensive sexual-health education among underserved youth in Philadelphia, this research study determined the impact of PTOP’s comprehensive sexual-health education on STI knowledge, sexual attitudes, and consent among underserved youth populations in Philadelphia. We found that participants had significant improvements in knowledge regarding transmission of STIs, use indications for PrEP for HIV, and purposes of birth control.

Effects of a culturally tailored intervention on medication adherence in Chinese and Vietnamese Americans with hepatitis B: a randomized controlled trial
Abstract Introduction: Asian Americans are disproportionately affected by chronic hepatitis B (CHB), which is caused by infection with hepatitis B virus (HBV). While adherence to antiviral medication is an effective practical approach to managing CHB and preventing liver cancer, medication adherence rates among Chinese and Vietnamese Americans with CHB, two vulnerable yet understudied populations, remain largely unknown.

Species identification through deep learning and geometrical morphology in oaks (Quercus spp.): Pros and cons
1 BACKGROUND Accurate species identification is a key prerequisite for ecological, evolutionary, and conservation studies (Cope et al., 2012; Wang et al., 2022). Phenotypic characteristics such as leaf shape are the most intuitive and effective indicators for species identification. Leaf shape, the core of taxonomy and systematics, is recognized as a trait with great functional significance (Nicotra et al., 2011).
Precisely Coordination‐Modulated Ultralong Organic Phosphorescence Enables Biomimetic Fluorescence‐Afterglow Dual‐Modal Information Encryption
1 Introduction In the era of the information explosion, information leakage and counterfeiting have already become worldwide issues that pose a severe threat to human health, social security and the economy.[1] It was estimated by Frontier Economics that the global economic loss caused by counterfeiting and piracy would amount to $2.3 trillion by 2022.[2] What's even more concerning, is that counterfeit medicines account for ≈10% of total medicine worldwide, which have disastrous implications...
PD-L1 Expression and Ultrasound Characteristics in Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma and Its Effect on Recurrence
Key Words: Papillary thyroid carcinoma PD-L1 ultrasound recurrence halo sign Thyroid cancer is a common malignant tumor of the endocrine system. The incidence of thyroid cancer in the world, especially in the female population, continues to grow (1, 2). According to the pathological type, most patients with thyroid cancer have differentiated thyroid cancer (3), among which papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) accounts for 85-90% of all thyroid cancer.
Effect of Cr-Mo addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of medium‐carbon steel
Herein, the effects of Cr–Mo addition on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of medium-carbon steel after spheroidization annealing are systematically studied through scanning electron microscopy, electron backscatter diffraction, and tensile testing. Cr–Mo addition hinders the proeutectoid ferrite + pearlite transformation, thereby promoting the bainite transformation.
Computer Vision Technology for Monitoring of Indoor and Outdoor Environments and HVAC Equipment: A Review
1. Introduction 1.1. Research Background A comfortable indoor and outdoor environment and efficiently operating HVAC equipment are essential for human health, productivity growth, and energy savings. Traditional indoor and outdoor environment monitoring, as well as HVAC equipment condition monitoring, are limited in some way by the technical constraints of the time and space.
Conjunctival infiltrates and cytokines in an experimental immune-mediated blepharoconjunctivitis rat model
1. Introduction Allergic blepharoconjunctivitis (BC) is a common ocular condition characterized by inflammation of the conjunctiva, cornea, and eyelids. Symptoms of allergic BC include tearing, itching, pain or swelling, and in more severe cases, corneal edema, scarring, or secondary infections leading to vision loss (1–3). Experimental models of immune-mediated allergy have been established to assess the immunological mechanisms of the disease and test new therapeutic approaches (4–8).
Effect of continuous nursing on wound infection and quality of life in patients with cancer‐related stoma: A meta‐analysis
4 DISCUSSION To maintain normal stoma function and avoid complications, postoperative patients with stoma require comprehensive knowledge of stoma care.10, 12 However, most patients do not receive consistent and effective instruction after discharge from the hospital, resulting in a significant reduction in their ability to care for themselves, which affects the quality of daily life and the incidence of complications.10 The traditional model of nursing, which is limited to providing patients...
Highly Tough, Fatigue-Resistant, Low Hysteresis Hybrid Hydrogel with Hierarchical Cross-Linked Structure for Wearable Strain Sensor
Highly Tough, Fatigue-Resistant, Low Hysteresis Hybrid Hydrogel with Hierarchical Cross-Linked Structure for Wearable Strain Sensor Shiqiang Guan, Chang Xu, Xufeng Dong and Min Qi Abstract Hydrogel is considered to be one of the promising candidates for wearable sensors due to its ideal designability and excellent mechanical flexibility. Nevertheless, the preparation of ion-conductive hydrogel with excellent mechanical properties by simple methods remains a great challenge.

Detection of alkaline phosphatase activity and inhibition with fluorescent hydroxyapatite nanoparticles
Detection of alkaline phosphatase activity and inhibition with fluorescent hydroxyapatite nanoparticles Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is a membrane-bound glycoprotein widely distributed in human. It can catalyze the hydrolysis of phosphate monoesters under alkaline condition. So, the variation of ALP activity is associated with various diseases and it is crucial to develop sensitive and accurate methods for monitoring ALP activity.
Accelerated Cocrystallization of Cytosine and Succinic Acid Through Compaction+Grinding
The solid-state co-grinding has been used as an effective method to prepare cocrystals. However, in some cases, this method could be time-consuming, especially for milling by hands. In this work, the operation of co-grinding is treated as two steps: the compaction of raw material mixture and relative motion and collision between solid particles. A simple pretreatment via compaction of raw material mixture prior to neat grinding is proven to accelerate cytosine-succinic acid cocrystallization.

Enhancement of Electrorheological Performance of Electrorheological Elastomers by Improving TiO2 Particles/Silicon Rubber Interface
As a composite, the particle/matrix interface may play an important role on electrorheological (ER) performance of ER elastomers, which have been overlooked in previous studies. In this study, TiO2 particles and silicon rubber were used to prepare ER elastomers. To improve the interfacial bond strength, two coupling agents, 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate (A174) and triethoxyvinylsilane (VTEO), were used to modify the surface of the TiO2 particles.
