Pollution-driven surface water quality improvement and expanding population benefits in karst regions of China
Abstract Karst regions in China have high geological permeability, fragmented river networks, and strong surface–groundwater interactions, making water quality management challenging. Despite their ecological and societal importance, long-term patterns of surface water quality remain poorly understood. Here we provide a nationwide, multi-decadal evaluation of surface water quality in karst regions using remote sensing and machine learning.
A case report of secondary retroperitoneal lymph node tuberculosis following chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia with literature review
Abstract The incidence of secondary retroperitoneal lymph node tuberculosis (TB) in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is relatively low, making it challenging to diagnose in clinical practice. This paper reports an AML patient who developed TB after chemotherapy, confirmed by positive T-SPOT results from the ultrasound-guided retroperitoneal lymph node biopsy. Eventually, the patient achieved negative conversion on T-SPOT test following individualized anti-TB treatment.
Deep Learning and Remote‐Sensed Observations Reveal Global Underestimation of River Obstructions
1 Introduction River obstructions modulate the natural hydrological regime. These structures, prolific across the globe, serve many functions, including facilitating navigation, raising water levels, supporting irrigation and water supply, aiding in flood control, and enabling hydropower generation (Graf, 1999). However, despite these benefits, they pose significant challenges, including complex ecological and socio-economic impacts.
