Abstract Flexible dielectrics suffer from an inherent polarization-breakdown trade-off. Herein, we propose a hydrogen bonding-modulated molecular stacking strategy to improve high-temperature capacitive energy storage performance. A series of polyetherimide copolymers with tunable hydrogen bond donors and acceptors was synthesized. Highly polarizable hydroxyl groups boost dielectric constant and increase hydrogen bond donor density.
Electrostatic interaction bridges charge transport kinetics and high-temperature capacitive energy storage of polymer dielectrics The capacitive energy storage of polymer dielectrics degrades rapidly at elevated temperatures and electric fields owing to the exponential growth of conduction loss.
Surface ions-activated polymer composites dielectrics for superior high-temperature capacitive energy storage Polymer dielectrics for high-temperature capacitive energy storage suffer from low discharged energy density and inferior efficiency owing to their exponential growth of conduction losses at elevated temperatures and electric fields. The electrode and bulk-limited conduction losses are two types of conduction mechanisms in polymer dielectrics.
