Wisconsin Trip: Marinette and Door Counties
Mitch here! Over the girls’ most recent school break, we visited Wisconsin to visit Marinette and Door County. Just a four-hour drive from Chicago, both locations were incredible, and I’m so excited to share what we did as well as some stunning photos that Kelly took. Day One O&H Danish Bakery – Racine, WI Our first stop was an absolute banger. O&H is a famous Wisconsin institution that serves a wide variety of deliciousness.

2024 Australian Olympic Trials Previews: The Veterans
With Australia’s Olympic Trials coming up in just a few weeks, the countdown is on to see who will qualify to represent the green and gold in Paris. The Trials will run June 10-15 at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre. City Garage Renovation
Mitch here! Like most, we’re always looking for ways to make our home more functional. And without question, the most underused—and disastrous—part of our home was long the garage. We’re not really car people so last year I found myself daydreaming about turning it into a multifunctional space— a garage, yes, but also a studio where I could spend time on woodworking; Kelly could refinish her Marketplace furniture finds; and the girls could craft, exercise and put on dancing/singing shows.
Staying Safe in the City
Mitch here! Today’s post is a little more serious than the average Mitch post because we’re partnering with Evolv Technology to discuss their impressive new efforts to improve public safety. As the son of a teacher, former teacher myself, current city dweller and father of two full-time elementary school students, the safety of my family while out in public is always top of mind.
The Best Outdoor Modular Kitchen
Mitch here! I’m a dad with a deck and two kids at home. I should be a straight-up grilling machine. But I’ve got a ghastly grill game. Instead of flipping burgers, I’ve been flopping them. My poultry is paltry. My franks are freaks. Ah, the Dad Jokes. Anyway, I clearly needed to improve my grillmanship, and I found the best grilling partners in the world to help me do just that: BBQ Guys and Mont Alpi Grills.

The Solo Stove Review
Solo Stove Bonfire / Solo Stove via Amazon / Solo Stove via Target / Solo Stove via Walmart / Solo Stove via LL Bean Mitch here! I grew up in an intensely boring part of the country, so bonfires were a big deal for us. But my city-slicker family doesn’t know the joy of sitting and collectively staring at burning wood for hours on end. That is until I bought this dope fire pit called the Solo Stove (also available at Amazon, Target, Walmart and LL Bean).
Ban Cars in the City
Mitch here! This is a bit of a different post today, but I was recently captivated by Farhad Manjoo’s incredible opinion piece in The Times imagining Manhattan with no cars. Cars suck up all the space in cities, and the thought of a car-less New York or Chicago gets me so excited. Cities are cramped and cars hog way too much space. Imagine for a second what your block would be like if cars didn’t exist.
Samsung Frame TV Review by Mitch
Samsung Frame TV (65″) Mitch here! TV, or not TV, that is the question: Whether ’tis nobler for the house to suffer a giant black rectangle on thy wall or for thine TV-watching fortunes to die—to bingewatch no more. That is to say that the Great TV Debate continues. In our house, the traditional battle lines were drawn: I wanted a TV so large that it’d need to be airlifted into the living room with a helicopter.
