Mobashra Tazamal’s Biography
Mobashra is a researcher and freelance writer focusing on global Islamophobia, particularly how mis-and disinformation and the state play a role in fomenting anti-Muslim hatred.
Her writing has looked at the Chinese government's utilization of the war on terror discourse to justify Uighur genocide, the erosion of civil and human rights for Muslims in India under the Hindu nationalist government, and surveillance and criminalization of Muslim communities in the west.
She is the Associate Director of The Bridge Initiative— a research project on Islamophobia—at Georgetown University and is a contributing author for an upcoming book on Islamophobia in the age of populism.
