Mohammad Waseem

I’m Mohammad Waseem, Srinagar journalist and storyteller currently pursuing my Master’s in Journalism. My work explores the intersections of culture, economy, and social change in South Asia, with a focus on amplifying underreported voices and stories from Kashmir.

I started my career as a trainee reporter at The Kashmiriyat in 2021, where I gained experience across print, photography, and multimedia reporting. Since then, I’ve developed a portfolio of long-form and investigative stories, covering themes such as Kashmir’s artisan economy, developmental, environmental, and agricultural transformations, and social justice. My reporting also extends to global issues, including AI-driven fraud in the Golden Triangle.

I aim to connect local realities with international conversations, producing journalism that is empathetic, nuanced, and globally relevant. Passionate about storytelling, I’m working toward expanding my reporting reach through collaborations with international media platforms.
