What was your first job as a journalist?
I guess the first preview I worked at PAX East as an accredited media person. So a roundup of games like Dark Souls. That's apt.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have on occasion...I'm pretty bad at it.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Lois Lane who very clearly picked up all of Clark's slack. We stan.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To try and discern the truth behind messages in the world around us. Hold responsible people accountable. Engage an audience meaningfully.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I had a hard time getting people to email me, which would've been easier than sifting through my personal dms on Twitter for something work .
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use Pages (first hot take) because I'm on Mac. School has me learning Pro Tools, Premiere and Indesign. The usual suspects are here too.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter is what I have stockholm syndrome towards so there. But I've grown fond of Instagram's simplicity of late.
Who do you wish followed you?
I wish less people followed me if I'm being honest.
Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted to address an audience, on something I thought I had some knowledge on consistently. Ruled out books. Journalism was there.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I "designed" a zine that never really came to fruition but my high school didn't have those institutions. Made up for it in college.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
It's hard to pick a single one, but I really relish writing centers my ethnicity and nationality.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Your own style will fall in line with the people and outlets you should work with.

People didn't really pitch me much, but the one week I had full editorial control, my friend pitched me a great article on Sea of Solitude.

What's your favorite drink?
If it's a cocktail, it's an old fashioned. If I'm just out for a beer, Blue Moon. If you're talking early Saturday morning, apple juice.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Hopefully catching a show.
