What was your first job as a journalist?
I started working for Sky & Telescope as an intern. I lasted two weeks...before they hired me full time.
Why did you become a journalist?
I am an astronomer and love to get into the weeds of a research problem, but journalism allows me to pull back and synthesize information.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Chasing, playing with, and learning from my three children.
