Monica Amarelo’s Biography

Monica Amarelo is a freelance writer based in Washington, DC, where she covers energy issues, the environment, global warming, health policy, and science.

Prior to that, she was managing editor of the quarterly science and security magazine the Public Interest Report. While there she covered cyber security, energy and the environment, national security, nuclear policy, and STEM education.

She has also published articles about science and technology for the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Science News, and the journal Science.
