Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

I was a baby writer for Your Geeky Gal Pal (what Uppercut was before the brand change.)

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, and I never heard a more satisfying noise since being blessed with those tappy-taps.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

In 1-2 paragraphs talking about the topic, and why they think it should be talked about.

Who do you wish followed you?

If Toshihiro Nagoshi had social media, it would be him!

Why did you become a journalist?

I got tired of reading video game articles I couldn't relate to, so why not just write it myself, amirite?

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Back in my high school, I worked on columns about the dangers teenagers might face and how to react to them.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

The imposter syndrome truly does feel like a slap in the face when writing anything. Fake it 'til you make it!
