The Gardner Police Department hosted a regional Canine Unit training event at the Gardner Aquatic Center and on the Johnson County Fair Grounds on Wednesday night. Although weekly training exercises are part of a continuing regimen that most police canine units in Johnson County go through to maintain their special skillset, this was the first time that some of the canine units had the opportunity to work on water bite training.
