Sort of ... I used a word processor that was basically an electric typewriter with a four-line flip-up screen.

How is social media changing news?

Social media is making more news more available more quickly while pressuring journalists to report information before properly vetting it.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

I laugh every time I see #partylikeajournalist.

In as few words as possible via email

Who do you wish followed you?

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

My high school's "newspaper" only came out twice a year and was little more than a PR vehicle for the school, so no.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

The best advice is in the Society of Professional Journalists' Code of Ethics: seek truth and report it, act independently, be responsible.
