What was your first job as a journalist?
It was a sports writer for a newspaper.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No, I do not use it.
How is social media changing news?
It made things easier to accept, but you must know how to confirm whether it's authentic or not.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
I do not read fictional journalists. In the real world, Fabrizo Romao is my ideal journalist.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
For me, being a journalist means highlighting important issues with professionalism and impartiality, while respecting privacy and upholding ethical boundaries.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
It was a Man United and Newcastle tag of war about Benjamin Sesko's transfer.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I prefer to be emailed a well-crafted pitch stating things from an audience perspective.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use MS Word and Grammarly
What's your favorite social network?
It's Instagram where I got a lot of stories, which I later cover in my writings.
Who do you wish followed you?
It was being a sports person. Maybe that's why I chose sports beat.
Why did you become a journalist?
To bring some undermining stories to the limelight.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, actually, we do not have one.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
One of my proudest pieces of writing is an article titled Where We Went Astray, which explored the devastating impact of heatwaves and highlighted the urgent need for climate awareness.”
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Just do whatever you want to. A lot of people will say in our Country there is no scope. Do not listen to them if you want to do it.
When's the best time to pitch you?
It was the time our national team qualified for the FIFA World Cup second round. Witnessing that historical event was the best.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
It was one of my earliest works when I wrote about Sebastian Haller from the hospital to the African throne.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I was about to write about the Pakistan Football elections. I never go for its publication.
What's your favorite drink?
I love Lemonade.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
When I'm not on my laptop, I will be in the Football club or with my family.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
It is BBC Sport that has a variety of columns.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
It was non-political. But trust me, it's not.
