1 Introduction An increasing concentration of water-borne pollutants is being reported in the environment. Examples of such micropollutants include pesticides, pharmaceutical compounds, and “forever chemicals” such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.[1] Many of these micropollutants are not removed via traditional water treatment technologies, thus, there is an increasing demand for a sustainable treatment solution, which could enable effective removal at low energy consumption.
