Mun Keat Looi’s Biography

Features and social media editor with a background in digital journalism and over 15 years in content, media and science writing.

I've written, produced and edited news, features, podcasts, video and campaigns for NGOs and commercial companies such as Wellcome Trust, Quartz, BBC Focus, The Guardian, and Chemistry World. I have written 2 books: ‘The Big Questions in Science' and 'The Geek Guide to Life' (aka. Science the Sh*t out of Life), which have been republished 3 times and translated into over 4 languages. I won the silver Rising Star at the 2015 British Media Awards and once raised over £16,000 and garnered widespread media coverage for a charity campaign as a side hustle.

I speak regularly at events on science, writing, journalism, social media and blogging, have a blue-tick on Twitter and over a quarter of a million followers on Pocket where I'm listed as one of their top sources of recommendations. I love Japanese culture.
