1 INTRODUCTION The emergence of recombinant virus vectors as a platform for viral vaccines, due to the expression of heterologous viral proteins on their surface, has led to an increased focus on live virus vaccines (LVVs) (Travieso et al., 2022). Recently, a chimeric SARS-CoV-2 vaccine candidate, VSV∆G-SARS-CoV-2, was developed by replacing the live vesicular stomatitis virus glycoprotein gene with a coding sequence for the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein (Espeseth et al., 2022).
