Quantitative proteomics of sperm tail in asthenozoospermic patients: exploring the molecular pathways affecting sperm motility - Cell and Tissue Research
Abstract Asthenozoospermia, characterized by low sperm motility, is one of the most common causes of male infertility. While many intrinsic and extrinsic factors are involved in the etiology of asthenozoospermia, the molecular basis of this condition remains unclear. Since sperm motility results from a complex flagellar structure, an in-depth proteomic analysis of the sperm tail can uncover mechanisms underlying asthenozoospermia.
Exclusive and semi-exclusive $\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 7 TeV
A measurement is presented of the exclusive and semi-exclusive production of charged pion pairs in proton-proton collisions, $\mathrm{ p p }\to\mathrm{ p }({\mathrm{p}^*} )+ \pi^{+}\pi^{-}+ \mathrm{ p } ({\mathrm{p}^*} )$, where the $\pi^{+} \pi^{-}$ pair is emitted at central rapidities, and the scattered protons stay intact ($\mathrm{p}$) or diffractively dissociate (${\mathrm{p}^*} $) without detection.

A first search for pair production of dark matter candidates through vector boson fusion in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = $ 8 TeV is performed with the CMS detector. The vector boson fusion topology enhances missing transverse momentum, providing a way to probe supersymmetry also in the case of a compressed mass spectrum. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 18.5 fb$^{-1}$ recorded by the CMS experiment.

Measurements of the five most significant angular coefficients, $A_{0}$ through $A_{4}$, for Z bosons produced in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV and decaying to $\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ are presented as a function of the transverse momentum and rapidity of Z boson. The integrated luminosity of the dataset collected with the CMS detector at the LHC corresponds to 19.7 fb$^{-1}$.
