What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job as a journalist was working for my universities newspaper the Voyager.

Social media is making news more accessible at a faster and less expensive rate and connecting people all throughout the world to each other.

Mary Jane from Being Mary Jane on BET.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means being able to share a story and give an in depth look into what is going on in the community, world and peoples life

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I prefer to be pitched on stories through email, word of mouth and social media.

Microsoft, googledocs, adobe premier
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter, I am able to share my thoughts, pictures, stories and connect with different people.
Who do you wish followed you?
I wish that people from the sports and entertainment industry followed me such as journalist from ESPN and Essence.
Why did you become a journalist?
I became a journalist because I enjoy sharing peoples stories and being able to understand the meaning of why something is happening.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am most proud of my stories that are in my black history month series.They allowed me to connect with people who look like me.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Stay true to yourself and take your time to make sure your articles & stories are accurate and that you're telling peoples stories accurately

What's the best pitch you ever got?
The best pitch I ever got was from my professor who wanted me to write an article on my classmates who were 90 and 93 years old.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
The worst pitch I ever got was for a class assignment having to write an article on session in D.C which I could only listen to old audio.
What's your favorite drink?
water or blue Powerade
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I am most likely to be out in nature enjoying the scenery or spending time with family and friends.

Essence, ESPN, The athletic
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I would say the most common misconception is that i only focus on event stories and I actually focus on a wide variety of stories.
