The Cardiac Investigation Unit (CIU) at the Townsville Hospital uses Definity. The indications are left ventricular (LV) opacification and delineation of LV endocardial border but off-label clinical applications are very useful in clinical echocardiography. The only contraindication is hypersensitivity to perflutren.
