Yes, in the newsroom at the Korea Herald in Seoul! Back in 1988!

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To look behind the obvious.

Why did you become a journalist?

To cover the swimming and diving events at the Olympics Games in Seoul because I couldn't swim in them.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Travel. Talk to people you bump into. Write everything down. Edit it. Rewrite it. Travel more.

What's your favorite drink?

Seltzer.
