Thrills, chills, howls at Collier haunted house
NAPLES - Oh, it’s creepy and kooky, mysterious and spooky. And altogether ooky. When people come to visit – they definitely scream. In daylight, the Collier County Fairgrounds might not resemble “The Addams Family” manse. But at night … at night … at least for the next two weekends, there’s terror and trembling, scares and spooks and more.
Plenty of ways to cool off this summer
Naples, Fla. - So. It’s summer in Florida. Southwest Florida. It’s hot. Hotter than hot (at least until it rains, and then it’s wet — but cool!). Is there a solution? One that doesn’t involve a summer cottage in Vermont, a chauffeur with an umbrella and a time-share in a meat locker? Of course. HSN offers ‘pay what they weigh’ for Chihuahuas
Naples, Fla. - “Oh, he’s speedy, that one.”“That one” would be Choo Choo, one of a veritable sea of small brown dogs currently occupying kennels, beds and lots of attention at the Humane Society Naples.Choo Choo, who resembles nothing so much as a miniature lion, scampers around on matchstick legs that belie both impressive speed and roaring courage. Tiny but mighty, he has a halo of bristly fur around his face and an extravagant tail that corkscrews completely around on itself.
Pizza Hut’s new crust leaves this diner ice cold
Don’t. Just … don’t.For pizza is sacred. And Pizza Hut has defiled the holy altar of tomato and pepperoni and dough. I speak of the Hot Dog Bites Crust Pizza, a misbegotten attempt to marry the tangy goodness of pizza to the downscale party-food delights of pigs in a blanket.Let’s get it out of the way. Right now. What Pizza Hut WANTS is a combination of their too-sweet/too-salty (but oh-so-good) pizza combined with delicious morsels of pork hugged by layers of dough. What Pizza Hut GETS is a mess.
