What was your first job as a journalist?

I was an intern at a local alt-weekly. I had a ridiculous amount of freedom in what I got to cover. It was a great lesson in voice-y writing.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

I don't know. I've been known to stop watching shows because a character practices such horrible journalistic ethics.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To tell stories that are accurate, informative and that inspire social change.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Adobe Audition, Twitter, Tweetdeck, Adobe Photoshop, Wordpress

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter. It's a dumpster fire but it's *my* dumpster fire.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yes, I wrote an extremely embarrassing series of music columns.
