Flow Battery with Remarkably Stable Performance at High Current Density: Development of A Nonfluorinated Separator with Concurrent Rejection and Conductivity
Introduction In the pursuit of integrating sustainable and reliable renewable energy into the current electricity grid, the role of energy storage technologies has become increasingly crucial. This is in large part due to the intermittent nature of solar and wind-based generation technologies.
Onomi Village - Ishikawa
One of the main reasons for Japan’s continued popularity post-covid is its unique regional specialties—from the shrines and temples of Kyoto to the bright lights of Tokyo to the street food scene of Osaka. In addition to these tourist staples, the country also offers a host of opportunities for visitors to explore authentic Japan. Start with Ishikawa Prefecture’s Onomi Village. Located in Nanao, Onomi Village provides a rural getaway where visitors can experience life in a small Japanese village.
Yuichi Kudo — Technical Outsider | | Metropolis Japan
“Whatever strangers think of me, I will not change. I am who I want to be,” assures Yuichi Kudo, drummer of extreme metal act Desecravity. “I like classical music, but I also like fusion and Latin jazz. I don’t listen to pop or such commercial music, and I don’t have the opportunity to know about them because I live a life that has nothing to do with them,” he explains, when asked to compare his art to other examples of his country’s musical landscape.

Blades of Shinanomachi - Nagano
Old and New The oft-cited dichotomies of Japan: East and West, old and new, archaic and contemporary. In the “new” camp sit things many visitors to Japan anticipate - Bullet trains and vending machines, robot restaurants and the lights of Akihabara. The “old” camp houses handfuls of what foreigners often approach with perplexity and occasionally deride - Paper money, business cards, hanko seals and so on. It’s a legitimate bafflement.
Shibu Onsen Day Trip - Nagano
Why just for the day? Depending upon where you happen to be based, a day trip to Shibu Onsen just to walk around a people-less town may not sound appealing. However, given the famous Nagano snow monkeys are almost literally around the corner and the various ski resorts (winter) and hiking (the rest of the year) available nearby, there are plenty of reasons to visit.
Ōfuna Kannon Temple in Kamakura - Kanagawa
Ōfuna Kannon in Kamakura City The Giant White Kannon Statue Ōfuna Kannon sits a 5-minute walk to the west of Ōfuna Station in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. At a commanding 25 metres in height, this impressive "goddess of mercy of the white robe" sculpture saw completion in 1960, despite initial construction having begun in 1929. WWII put various attempts to recommence on hold but it was certainly worth the wait.

Featured | By Nathan Eden Feb 1, 2021 - 5 min read Welcome to Myoko, the Japow Capital of Japan. First things first; the average snowfall for Myoko Kogen is a whopping 13-15 meters per winter season. That's enough to satisfy any powder junkie a few times over. Hagi: the Perfect Place for a 2-Day Date - Yamaguchi
The small city of Hagi is perhaps Yamaguchi Prefecture’s most beautiful secret. The ocean meets the mountains and culture meets modernity. This is an integral center of Japan’s own industrial revolution but one with cultural history, a beautiful beach, and enough charm to provide a couple of escapists with a few days away from the rest of the world. Aside from one or two gems away from the city center, many of Hagi’s highlights may be enjoyed within a fairly compact area.
