Stand-up comedy is in trouble. For years, the comedy industry has relied on the same formula: big names, two-drink minimums, and club venues packed into urban centers. Young, up-and-coming comedians find it difficult to make a name for themselves, and audiences find ticket prices too expensive for a fun night out. Traditional comedy clubs are falling behind.

High fashion has been an inherent part of American television culture since the early 2000s. From “America’s Next Top Model” to “Project Runway,” the glamour and elitism of high-end fashion have been the premise behind reality show competitions for years. Interestingly, streetwear, which is far more relatable to the average American, hasn’t been on the same reality TV pedestal — that is, until “The Hype” premiered on HBO Max this August.

Murals are for the people. They remove exclusivity from art by bringing people together while also adding beauty to the days of their passersby. The word “mural” originates from the Latin word “murus,” which means wall, but today mural can be defined as any piece of art painted onto a “wall, ceiling or other larger permanent surfaces, flat, concave or convex.” This means that murals are truly meant to be appreciated by everyone and on as large a scale as possible.
