Wyoming must fight to restore the constitution using Article V
Several of our fellow Wyoming legislators have argued against the effort to reign in the federal government using Article V of the Constitution, claiming that it is too risky. We want to set the record straight for Wyomingites who might hear it said that this essential part of our Constitution, the ability for states to push back against Washington, could harm that most sacred founding document. Article V is the section of the Constitution that allows for amendments.
Extension has extensive ag and horticultural resources
Agricultural and Farm New Fall harvest in the region continues at a rapid pace. Farmers are in a good position to have harvest and tillage completed in good time. Yields across the region are generally good overall and I expect county averages to be competitive with some of the higher yields in recent years. These yields will be helpful to farmers financially, but it will still be difficult to make up the difference with lower commodity crop prices.

First of all, there are many risks associated with the mechanical operations of farm equipment. Many moving parts and wheels make this an important area of concern. Second, one of the associated risks encountered deals with chemical hazards.

Farm safety can pay big financial dividends
September 16-22 is National Farm Safety and Health Week. Avoiding farm work injuries that interfere with fall harvest can pay big financial dividends for crop producers. That is documented in a study by John Shutske, farm safety and health specialist with the University of Minnesota Extension. The study indicates that lost time during fall harvest in the upper Midwest can cost a producer over $300 per day. This total is separate from medical, hospital and other related expenses.
