New Denon AVRs or my imagination?
#1 Hi all, Japan is showing an AVC-X2850H model. Is this new? Or some variant that already existed in Japan? All I can see in model information any different it "real time channel level monitoring". Haha sounds like a spectrum analyser from the 80s. Please put this thread to bed if this is a false alarm.
Surround Level Compensation
#1 Sorry if I'm late to the party here. But the huge irritation where D&M Dynamic EQ boosts the surrounds? Problem fixed. A new setting has appeared and it can be turned off. Thought it was worth a thread so that we could clear up which models have added the setting. If all this has already been discussed then please delete the thread. Cheers.
Modern Denon & Marantz Owners - LFE Distribution
#3 Just stumbled across this thread as was doing LFE distribution search. There is not much out there that would explain in detail how LFE distribution works under the hood. From practical experience, this is how I think it works. Otherwise, my speakers would be already fried. It distributes LFE signal (without the low end from other channels that was sent to subs via crossovers) to speakers that are set as large, or how they call it nowadays, full range.
DLBC Multi-sub vs Audyssey Sub EQ HT
#1 Hi all, As we know, Audyssey Sub EQ HT pulses each (up to 4 depending on AVR/AVP model) subwoofer separately to set a trim level and a time delay. My personal experience shows by calculation that the time delay is set based on an 80Hz frequency (I found this by changing the subs phase control and seeing the difference it made to the delays).

Using an Auro 3d 5.1.4 speaker set up to run atmos?
weezy40 Established Member #1 Hi all, Would really value to hear experiences of people who run a .4 auro 3d speaker setup and how it performs when running a good atmos mix. Is this setup able to create realistic objects in your space? So example: the voices in mad max, are they coming from above and all around you like they should? Thanks! Jeroen #2 @John24ssj could comment as he runs modest 5.4.4 Auro 3D system.

The CEDIA/CTA-RP22 discussion thread
Mr Wolf Distinguished Member #1 What is RP22? A few months ago, CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) finalised a new recommended practice guide for immersive audio system design in collaboration with the Consumer Technology Association (CTA).
Manifest (Netflix) The Final Season 4 - Part 1
#1 Last edited: Aug 29, 2022 #2 #3 OK, this sounded interesting until I realised Netflix only have season 4, and not 1-3 in the UK. The rights to the first 3 are stuck with Sky/NowTV for the foreseeable future. I'm sure there is no point watching S4 unless you have seen the others. Kit list: Benq W2700 4K Projector, Philips 55OLED806, Marantz NR1609 AVR, Focal Sib Evo Atmos 5.1.2, Panasonic DP-UB450, AppleTV 4K, SVS Soundbase, SVS Prime Bookshelf. Steam Deck, Switch and PC.
Denon AVR-X2800H Sounds dreadful
Eggsy Established Member #1 I recently purchased a Denon AVR-X2800H to replace my 20 year old Denon AVR-2803. I have set it up manually and have played several films through it which my old Denon would shake the room. However, the 2800H sounds very flat and you can barely here anything even on high volumes. There is no oomph when there are explosions. It all sounds just like sound in the background rather than shaking the room. Any idea why?
