Evaluating primary haemostasis in cirrhosis is challenging, as findings remain inconsistent across cohorts and clinical decisions still rely on platelet count as a surrogate parameter of primary haemostasis [1]. There are many studies on platelet function in cirrhosis and some showed discrepancies between results and conclusions [2]. Cirrhosis is characterized by a fragile and dynamic haemostatic balance, which essentially explains the observed discrepancies [3].
