2026 Syracuse Football Preview: Tight Ends
Year one under head coach Fran Brown for Syracuse Football was magical. 10 wins, a dominant bowl game victory over Washington State, and the ‘Cuse finished the season ranked in the final AP poll of 2024. However, the next year was a complete 180. They won a total of three games and lost the final eight games of last season. So, year three in the Fran Brown era leaves many fans with questions about what to expect.
3-seed Syracuse men’s lacrosse battles 2-seed North Carolina in ACC Championship Semifinals
With the regular season all wrapped up, 3rd-seeded No. 6 Syracuse men’s lacrosse (11-4, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) turns its attention to the ACC Championship down in Charlotte. SU has a bout against 2nd-seeded No. 5 North Carolina (11-3, 2-2 ACC) this Friday. Both teams dropped their regular-season finales to ACC opponents last weekend, and the Orange fell to the Tar Heels 14-9 about four weeks ago. It was a setback in South Bend for No. 5 @CuseMLAX, falling to No. 1 @NDlacrosse 16-11.
Syracuse men’s basketball comes up short against Wake Forest 88-83 for third straight loss
After back-to-back losses, Syracuse men’s basketball (15-14, 6-10 Atlantic Coast Conference) had a full week off to rest and prepare for Wake Forest (15-14, 6-10 ACC). Unfortunately for the Orange, that time off didn’t help them, since they lost 88-83 to the Demon Deacons. The loss marks the seventh single-digit defeat of the season for SU, which is half of the team’s 14 losses. Even on @Cuse_MBB head coach Adrian Autry's birthday, SU still couldn't get it done against @WakeMBB in an 88-83 loss.
Syracuse men’s basketball aims to break its 3 game conference losing streak on the road against NC State
After Syracuse men’s basketball (12-8, 3-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) defeated Florida State for its third straight ACC win, there was plenty of hope and optimism that SU would end the five-year drought of not getting to the NCAA tournament. Well, it’s been a rough stretch since. The Orange have now lost three straight conference games, all by single digits. This is the first time that’s happened since 2021. While hoping to recover from the losing streak, Syracuse now faces a challenging stretch.
Donnie Freeman and Syracuse men’s basketball fight off a late surge from Georgia Tech for their first ACC win of the season
After starting conference play with a loss, Syracuse men’s basketball (10-5, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) found a way to fend off Georgia Tech (10-6, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) 82-72 for its first ACC win of the season. But, while the final score shows a double-digit win, the result of the Orange’s first true road game of the season was up in the air after the Yellow Jackets flew back into the game in the second half.
An ugly win, still counts as a win and Syracuse men’s basketball found a way to take down St. Joseph’s
After its longest break in between games all season long, Syracuse men’s basketball (6-3, 0-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) pulled out a 71-63 win over St. Joseph’s (6-4, 0-0 Atlantic 10 Conference). While many thought this non-conference meeting would be a rout, a lack of energy and effort from Syracuse, outside of one player, made the game close until the end.
Don’t say goodbye to Syracuse football in 2025 just yet.
After back-to-back road games, Syracuse football (3-8, 1-7 Atlantic Coast Conference) hosts Boston College (1-10, 0-7 Atlantic Coast Conference) this Saturday. With the Orange not bowl eligible for the first time since 2021, this game marks the season finale for the Orange in 2025. After both teams made it to a bowl game with a first-year head coach last season, it hasn’t been a similar year for both Syracuse and Boston College this season.
A slow start for Syracuse Football let the game slip away against No. 24 Tennessee
Syracuse football (0-1, 0-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) flies home from Atlanta in despair after a 45-26 loss to No. 24 Tennessee (1-0, 0-0 Southeastern Conference) in the Aflac Kickoff Game at Mercedes Benz Stadium. From the get go, it didn’t look good for the Orange. It didn’t take long for @CuseFootball to lose control in its 45-26 loss to No. 24 @Vol_Football.@Hudson_Ridley and @SamuelReisTV had the call of the 2025 season opener that got away from SU.
Who are the top new targets for Syracuse Football in 2025?
With the calendar flipping to August, Syracuse football (0-0, 0-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) plays its first game this month. After the Orange won ten games for the first time since 2018 a year ago, 2025 brings high expectations and even bigger shoes to fill. That theme could not be more true when looking at the wide receiver room for next season. A big reason why the team had a lot of success last season was the plethora of experienced wide outs Quarterback Kyle McCord had at his disposal.
6 seed Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse survives a swing of emotions against 3 seed Princeton to advance to Memorial Day weekend
6th seeded Syracuse men's lacrosse (13-5, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) is going back to Championship Weekend for the first time since 2013! The Orange edged out a 19-18 win over 3rd seeded Princeton (13-4, 5-1 Ivy League) at Hofstra University on Long Island. But, this roller coaster ride of a game was a classic back and forth, heavyweight fight between two of college lacrosse’s biggest powerhouses.
