Both my parents are writers and I played around plenty on their typewriters as a kid.

Some want to say that social media IS news. I say that social media has finally made us realize the value of professional vetting.

Why did you become a journalist?

I've always had a thirst to discover the world and a passion to share those discoveries with others.

A documentary on street walkers in St. Petersburg, Russia.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Stick with it - but understand that journalism is far more complex today than it ever has been before.

Mornings.

A pitch for re-usable diapers!

At the dog park.
