Interview

Why did you become a journalist?

I've always been a writer, but I wanted to expand my skills beyond fiction and immerse myself in news, feature, food, and nonfiction writing.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I was Co-Editor and helped oversee our team. I ensured things ran smoothly, deadlines were met, and copyedited all stories before press.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My memoir, Onward and Upward. It's a vulnerable deep dive that focuses on adoption, racial ignorance, and mental health.

What's your favorite drink?

Tito's and 7 with a lime. If I'm feeling fancy, I'll always go for a gimlet.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Laying on the couch with my cat or hip-hop dancing at my local studio.
