Nils Larsen’s Biography
Nils Larsen, a Norwegian Sea Captain, is most known for his Antarctic voyages with Norway. Larsen was born in Sandar, Norway, and worked for a shipping firm after getting his master's degree before becoming a well-known whaler. Nils Larsen not only led his own ships, but he also served as a first mate on the Norvegia Antarctic expeditions. Norway finally annexed Bouvet Island and Peter I Island during this scientific trip. Larsen was the first person to land on the island.
