Neil Jayson Servallos’s Biography

Neil Jayson Servallos is an award-winning journalist with six years of experience working for some of the most circulated newspapers in the Philippines. In his career, he has written about conventional and digital crimes, local governments, national security, politics and communities––doing so with a greater focus on context and narrative, while managing deadlines and tight print spaces.

He has been using open-source intelligence (OSInt) in long-form and investigative reporting projects.

A Master of Arts in Journalism graduate, he is also a skilled researcher and values the tradition of excellence in journalism. His scholarly research is currently focused on newsroom and field reporting dynamics, as well as external factors that lead journalists to unhealthy reporting routines and unethical practices.
