What does it mean to be a journalist?
To me, it means giving a voice to those who may not have one or shedding light where there may not be any.
What's your favorite social network?
I really like all of them for different reasons. Instagram is the most fun for me because I enjoy seeing all the great music photos.
Why did you become a journalist?
I took a trip to Washington D.C. and fell in love with the Newseum.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did not.
When's the best time to pitch you?

What's the worst pitch you ever got?
"I'd like to be anonymous, but..."
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I really try to be out in the community, hopefully at a music event.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
For crime and Education, it's that I know everything immediately. For Music, it's that I can be multiple places at once.
