Sadie Brandt – Editor-in-Chief crank 2 – Slayyyter There isn’t much that Slayyyter can’t cure, including a case of horrid senior-itis. The long-awaited sequel to my spring anthem “CRANK,” otherwise known as the loudest song ever created, doesn’t disappoint. Packed with Slayyyter’s trademark tongue-twisting lyrics and backed by tornado sirens, “crank 2” is as chaotic and banging as its predecessor and the only song strong enough to keep looming thoughts of the future at bay.
Op-Ed: Should the Port of Cleveland Serve Residents or Just the Donor Class?
The corrupting influence of big money in our economic and political life surrounds us. Our public institutions have been hijacked to serve the interests of the wealthy and well connected – not the public. The rot of big money goes far beyond elected officials. The Board of the Port of Cleveland is a perfect example of a “public” institution maximized to deliver the goods for wealthy developers.
Opinion: The educational system should be designed for society, not just employers
The goal of Ohio schools is to produce workers. This narrow view expressed in the Nov. 10 Crain's Forum piece, “Key ingredients for a successful Ohio workforce: Young learners, a lot of teachers,” professes career readiness as the paramount objective. The career-first approach to education is anti-democratic and anti-worker. This view seeks to optimize our educational institutions to meet the needs of today’s employers.

We’ll come back to the GCP in a moment.
Op-Ed: Class Snuggle -- Cozying up to Cleveland’s Most Reviled Billionaire Owners
[ { "name": "Real 1 Player (r2) - Inline", "component": "38482494", "insertPoint": "2/3", "requiredCountToDisplay": "9" } ] Dave Wondolowski’s recent Crain’s Cleveland Op-Ed reads like a Haslam Sports Group press release. While it's entirely on-brand to see Wondolowski shilling for the wealthy and well connected, it's still striking to read him – as a labor leader – lobbying for socialism for NFL owners and rugged capitalism for the rest of us.
Personal View: Residents' calls grow for public comment in Cleveland
Nationally, Democrats are fighting unprecedented efforts to undermine democracy, battling voter suppression initiatives across the county. While locally, Democratic leaders of Cleveland City Council are ignoring, fighting or delaying broad-based calls to reform a number of council practices, most importantly allowing for a public comment period at committee and full council meetings.
