What was your first job as a journalist?
I wrote a piece for a suburban branch publication of the Chicago Tribune.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means to interface with people and things and try to be a vessel for their communication with the public. Journalists are interlocutors.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
My phone, call recording app that includes transcription software, and my computer, which has the internet and Microsoft Office applications.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Currently, on the Chicago Palestine Film Festival for the Chicago Reader
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be considerate about all the people you are interviewing. It is not about you.
