I loved the Fourth Wall introduction to the book which we hear from Michael, the Mr Bossy of the title. It acts as a sort of Prologue, it’s a bit like the equivalent of a narrator’s voiceover giving the reader the pertinent facts before the story begins.

The last person he expects to throw a lifeline is Rob, a rival chef who once beat him to first place in a cooking contest. Two chefs working together won't be easy. Not when Rob is everything Jude isn't - popular, extroverted, and a one-time hookup. What's worse is that Rob wears his heart on his sleeve while Jude's still in the closet.

I absolutely adore fantasy, it’s my first love and I’m always really happy to see more authors in the MM genre writing it. With Lacuna, Nic does an excellent job of not only creating a fully immersive world, but bedding a romance into the heart of the narrative.
