Dr. Nicholas Blanchard currently serves as dean at the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore campus. A veteran academic and scientific professional, Dr. Nicholas Blanchard has held various positions in the pharmaceutical field over the past two decades. For three years commencing in 2005, he served as assistant dean for student affairs and advocacy with Wegmans School of Pharmacy at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. Previously, he served as a regional medical scientist for educational and medical affairs for pharmaceutical concern GlaxoSmithKline.
Dr. Blanchard pursued undergraduate studies at Brevard College in North Carolina and then went on to obtain a bachelor of science in pharmacy at the University of North Carolina. Subsequently he earned a master of education at Campbell University, pursued a residency in pediatric clinical pharmacy at Los Angeles’ Children’s Hospital, and then earned a doctor of pharmacy at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy. The recipient of multiple academic and professional awards, Dr. Blanchard was recently recognized as Brevard College’s Alum of the Year for 2012.
