What was your first job as a journalist?
College - general news reporter. First story was an interview with the founders of Yik Yak after a bomb threat at UGA.

Yes, actually, despite my youth.
How is social media changing news?
It helps get the news out faster, but means we have to work a whole lot harder to make sure it's accurate.

Twitter, Excel, some Python and SQL programming, video editing software, and good ol' Notepad.

Why did you become a journalist?
I love writing, I love history and news and current events, and I love telling stories.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Absolutely. I was a general news reporter, though I wrote sports and features and some opinions as well. Headed up the website for two years.
