The establishment of interventional radiology (IR) as a separate residency has only modestly increased the number of female residents while the percentage of under-represented minority (URM) residents remains low. Given the role of IR residency program directors in selecting applicants, this study was developed to identify which strategies they preferred to increase female and URM residents.
