Ocean Malandra’s Biography

Ocean Malandra is a widely published freelance environmental journalist and travel writer that divides his time between Northern California and South America. He is the current author of the Moon Travel Guide series to Colombia, a former environmental columnist for Paste Magazine, and the editor of an upcoming anthology on psychedelic plant medicines.

He possesses academic certificates in Writing for Social Justice from UC Berkeley, Sustainable Tourism from the University of Copenhagen, Gestion Territorial y Gobernabilidad Para el Turismo en Colombia from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and Digital Journalism from the Reuters Foundation.

Ocean is a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ), the Solutions Journalism Network, the International Travel Writers Alliance, and the Cusco Writers Guild.
