Ocean Malandra’s Biography

Ocean Malandra is a widely published freelance environmental journalist and food/travel writer who divides his time between Northern California and South America. His work has appeared in more than 30 media outlets, including Paste Magazine, where he wrote the environmental column EarthRx.He is the current author of the Moon Travel Guides series on Colombia and the co-editor of Infinite Perception: The Role of Psychedelics in Global Transformation.

Ocean holds academic certificates in Writing for Social Justice from UC Berkeley, Sustainable Tourism from the University of Copenhagen, Gestión Territorial y Gobernabilidad Para el Turismo en Colombia from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and Digital Journalism from the Reuters Foundation. He is a member of the Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ), the Solutions Journalism Network, the International Travel Writers Alliance, and the Cusco Writers Guild.
