Recovery is a road less traveled
Like the back roads on the reservations, filled with potholes, dust, and broke down vehicles, the road to recovery is unpaved, unchartered, and unknown to those seeking sobriety. The roads we once parked on to drink, party, and snag, we must navigate with a sober mind and different intention. The one thing they don’t tell you about sobering up or getting clean is that you/we are on our own. They say the first step to recovery is admitting we have a problem before it’s too late.

Oglala Lakota, Bennett, Todd Counties Included In Disaster Declaration Issued By Noem
South Dakota Gov Kristi Noem has signed a disaster declaration for 16 counties hit hard by the December snowstorms. The list includes Bennett, Oglala Lakota, and Todd Counties, who together cover the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Sioux Reservations. Noem’s order is part of a request for a Presidential disaster declaration, which would make federal resources available to help state, tribal, and local governments recover from the storms.
