Why did you become a journalist?
I was never good enough to be a professional footballer, and I've had a passion and flair for writing since I was a boy.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was the sports editor for The Founder, the student newspaper of Royal Holloway, University of London.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My exclusive interview with Inter Miami manager Phil Neville, where he admitted for the first time that he was interested in Lionel Messi.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be persistent, and don't be afraid of rejection. The worst thing people can say to you is no. Keep pitching ideas and pursuing interviews.
When's the best time to pitch you?
When the editor's in a good mood. NOT when they've just come out of conference.
What's your favorite drink?
Pint of Guinness.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
On the football pitch or in a jazz bar.

That writing a match report in the stadium is easier than writing a match report from the TV.
