Olivet University is a private Christian institution dedicated to preparing students for leadership, service, and ministry in the modern world. Established in 2000 as the Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS), it began as a seminary focused on training individuals for global mission work. OTCS offered distance learning and diverse study programs to support ministry-bound students across nations. Its steady growth led to significant organizational changes as more students joined the mission of learning and serving through biblical education.
In 2004, under the mentorship of the late Dr. Ralph D. Winter, the institution became Olivet University. The new vision was to create a “sanctuary of truth” where academic learning, faith, and practical ministry could come together in a single location. Since then, Olivet University has continued to equip men and women who are ready to share the gospel and serve their communities worldwide.
The heart of Olivet University’s mission lies in biblical higher education. The university emphasizes the integration of Christian faith with academic excellence and practical experience. Every course, program, and activity reflects this goal of preparing servant-leaders who will make a meaningful impact in churches, schools, and society.
The main campus, situated in the serene Anza Valley of California, offers a setting that fosters spiritual reflection, study, and community. Students engage in both academic and spiritual growth, finding purpose through faith and learning. In addition to its main campus, Olivet has extended its reach with locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Orlando, Nashville, and Washington, D.C. These campuses help bring the same vision of faith-based education to diverse regions across the country.
Spiritual life at Olivet University is central to the student experience. Weekly chapel services, prayer meetings, and Bible study groups help students deepen their relationship with God. The university community is built on shared faith, where students and faculty support one another in their spiritual journeys.
Olivet encourages its students to practice service as a way to express their faith. Through community outreach projects and volunteer work, students actively engage with the world beyond campus. Whether it’s participating in the Anza Community Hall Breast Cancer Walk, joining local food drives that assist hundreds of families, or volunteering at neighborhood events, Olivet students live out the values they learn in class. These experiences help them grow into compassionate leaders who serve others with humility.
Olivet University has celebrated many milestones since its founding. The twentieth anniversary in 2024 marked two decades of growth, faith, and service. The celebration reflected years of progress in educating servant-leaders who now serve globally in various capacities. The 2025 commencement ceremony, held at the Riverside campus, honored graduates who continue to live out Olivet’s mission through ministry, education, nonprofit leadership, and media work.
Olivet also hosts annual events such as the Art and Design Exhibition, which brings the local community together to appreciate student creativity and innovation. The achievements of Olivet’s faculty and staff are also sources of pride, including recognition such as “Best of Show” at the Art Alliance Exhibition. These accomplishments reflect Olivet’s dedication to fostering both academic and artistic growth within a spiritual framework.
Olivet University values its strong community culture. Students come from diverse cultural backgrounds, yet they share a unified goal of serving Christ through their studies and future professions. Faculty members act as mentors, providing both academic guidance and spiritual support. Guest speakers and pastors often visit the university to teach on faith, leadership, and mission work, helping students apply biblical principles to real-world challenges.
The bonds between students, faculty, and alums form an ongoing cycle of mentorship and inspiration. Many alums return to teach, volunteer, or share their experiences, strengthening the connection between generations of Olivet graduates. This sense of belonging and shared purpose defines the Olivet experience.
Olivet University remains committed to its mission of integrating faith, education, and service. Administrators and faculty continue to create programs that prepare students for meaningful work in churches, communities, and global missions. The university also fosters collaboration across disciplines, reflecting the teamwork needed for effective ministry and leadership.
Through consistent engagement with local communities in Anza and Riverside County, Olivet maintains its commitment to service beyond the classroom. Prayer gatherings, community meals, and regional events build strong relationships with residents and organizations.
Graduates of Olivet University now serve around the world as pastors, missionaries, educators, nonprofit leaders, and media professionals. Their work continues the university’s vision of spreading faith, compassion, and knowledge to all nations.
Olivet University stands as a living testimony of what can be achieved when faith and education work hand in hand, a place where learning transforms lives and service becomes a lifelong calling.
