What was your first job as a journalist?
Spoon University-Uconn Chapter was my first experience writing and publishing articles. I started at the club then worked my way as an intern

No, but I want to!
How is social media changing news?
Social media is constantly evolving, and it's important that media itself evolves with it. It gets the news out faster and fosters creativity
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Rory Gilmore from Gilmore Girls. She never stops trying to be better and is always on top of her game.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Journalism found me when I didn't even know that's what I wanted. It is a career that is exciting, evolving, and one that I am grateful for.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Trello, Excel, WordPress, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter. There is a new trend everyday and that's where I get some of my news from.
Why did you become a journalist?
I joined a club early on in college which allowed me to explore writing. I completely fell in love with it, and turned it into my career.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Not in high school. In college I wrote news posts for the economics department's daily newsletter for undergraduate students.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am incredibly proud of my Facebook ad blog post. I have gotten so used to writing about food, this was a new challenge for me!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Don't be afraid to ask questions and stop second-guessing your self. Your instinct is almost always right the first time!
When's the best time to pitch you?
The best time to pitch to me would be in the middle of the week, in the afternoon. Wednesdays can be slow news days!
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I once got a pitch from a protein powder company. The products were awful; I thought it was a coffee brand! That's why you do your research!
What's your favorite drink?
Margarita's are my favorite. They are such a versatile drink that my friends and I love hanging out over.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Traveling, exercising, reading, or listening to music.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Food & Wine always has great angles for stories and the writers are very thorough. The magazine is an interesting read.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That it caters to an older audience. All of the news is extremely up to date and is beneficial for all ages!
