What does it mean to be a journalist?
To me, it means honesty and integrity in newswriting, putting people first in the story and making a difference. Call me an optimist.

Why did you become a journalist?
There is information, and then the way in which it's presented. Telling stories that matter the way they need to be told is vital to society.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Get as much experience as possible, and look to senior journalists for inspiration and guidance.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I'm very partial to AP, though still like to read the Onion. It's like worldwide Private Eye.
