What was your first job as a journalist?
Reporter on the newsite about my college campus. In my first day I had to cover a story about a cyclist hit by a bus :/
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, as a child, while visiting my parents at work. I also had an electric one at home ;)
How is social media changing news?
Anyone can broadcast information now, so the most relevant role of the media is curate and fact-check the news.

Clark Kent ;)
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To find the best, most accurate information as fast as possible. And to curate the facts, selecting the most relevant news.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
(all about bizarre stories here in my country, Brazil)

What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Notepad, pen and smartphone. Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Word, Excel, Datawrapper, Tableau.

Twitter, of course. Always will be.

Why did you become a journalist?
Because I have this urge to get information and keep myself informed
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
There wasn't a newspaper on my high school. But My first job at college was as a reporter on the newssite
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
That would be "Faixa de Gaza em Recife" (Recife's Gaza Strip), about a successful government program to reduce homicides in Brazil
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Journalism isn't something you can do all by yourself. Be friendly, sta connected to people, make friends. Friends will get you through.
