Entrustable professional activities define the ‘work to be done’ in optometric practice. Entrustable professional activities provide a way of operationalising competency assessment in a real clinical environment through trust scores. It is arguable that using entrustable professional activities may provide a more valid and reliable assessment of clinical competence along with driving a more patient-focussed approach.
