Reproduction to transformation: disrupting teacher habitus through pedagogic work
Addressing in-service teacher professional development is a significant issue for educational stakeholders as reform movements mobilize to replace teacher-led instruction with student-centred pedagogies. Teachers need access to high-quality professional development to mitigate implementation problems associated with reform practices. Drawing on critical ethnography, I followed the year-long professional journey of six in-service science teachers in Quebec, Canada.
Canada should work in partnership with Germany on our clean energy goals
Earlier this month, I travelled to Germany with NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh and MP Charlie Angus to learn more about Germany’s approach to the challenges facing that nation — Vladimir Putin’s invasion and war in Ukraine and the transition to a more sustainable energy future. Our travel was at the invitation of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, a German non-profit associated with the governing Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD), the Social Democratic Party of Germany.

Betting on Secular Change Is Not Just for Growth Investors
Disruption creates risks and opportunities for value strategies. By Heather K. McPherson and John D. Linehan, CFA, T. Rowe Price Portfolio Managers Value stocks have come under pressure as economic uncertainty prompts investors to shorten their time horizon, pile into secular winners, and avoid cyclicals. We believe our rigorous fundamental research gives us an edge in identifying where the market’s misunderstanding of secular risks could create opportunity.
I Stayed One Night in a Haunted Airbnb in Jefferson City, Missouri
When faced with the prospect of spending the night in a haunted house (like, a literal home, supposedly inhabited by literal ghosts), a few strategies came to mind: 1. Refuse to believe in said literal ghosts. 2. Mock the very idea of said literal ghosts. 3. Bring my mom. I went with all three. The house in question, a 1910 red brick manor in Jefferson City, Missouri, was featured in a recent episode of Travel Channel’s The Dead Files for being, well, haunted.

Florida peaches come in the market in April and May. This is Heather’s Florida Kitchen’s last post here at HypeOrlando.com.
