TIER LIST: Heavyweight Champions by title fights (1990 to present)
Here is a tier list of for the Heavyweight champions since 1990 using the Heavyweight Wx10 Ranking System for Title Fights. The premise is ranking all Heavyweights Champions based on how many top 10 opponents they have defeated during title fights. Just to be clear this is not a ranking of who is the best fighter.
School me on Eddie Chambers
I always felt Chambers was a good heavyweight, an underrated win for Wlad, and seemed like he could have done a bit more with his career than he did. He was a little small for a heavyweight but had solid skills and speed with a nice jab. Not a lot of power but probably a bit more than his ko % would indicate. Peter, Brock, and his schooling of Dimitrenko in Germany were good wins. A semi-relevant Guinn and an undefeated ko of Rossy were decent wins as well.
Kovalev, Linares or Martinez..
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Liquorice, Jan 29, 2022 at 4:09 PM. Who out of these 3 would you say has had the best career & is most deserving of potentially being inducted into the HOF at some point? Im Referring to Sergio Martinez btw CST80 De Omnibus Dubitandum: Reject The New Normal Sergio and Sergey are on equal footing IMO. Both very HOF worthy.
Best of 2021
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by HellSpawn86, Oct 19, 2021. It's something I'd like to do on annual basis, do votes in January 2021. Right now I'm trying to get ahead of the game with discussions. I have written down the following categories. I'll add a few nominations in a subsequent post. We can vote the best of 2021 in January.
are there those that would still favor a prime wlad over Fury
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by LandSwarm, Oct 17, 2021. I think (old) Wlad could've beat him in the rematch. I honestly think it was a bad night for Wlad (maybe a bad strategy / advice from his corner), but he was certainly not throwing and he would have probably thrown more in the next fight. Ring Magazine's To be the Best Top 100 Ranking
If Jake ''Money'' Paul does't feature in it the whole thing is meaningless and realistically he should be top 10
Honest P4P list.
1. Usyk - Never beaten with one close fight vs Briedis on his resume, everything else has been dominant. He fought everyone away from home and always won. He has A+ level wins in Hunter, Brieids, Gassiev and AJ + a very good win vs an undefeated Glowacki. 2. Lomachenko - I still believe he is number 2, he will easily dispatch Lopez in the rematch, however he had more of an argument for winning that fight than Canelo did in either Golovkin bout. 3.
Canelo = Gifted
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by cleglue1, Nov 16, 2021 at 12:12 PM. Canelo has accomplished quite a bit since GGG 1. I catch myself admiring his style, confidence and composure, but we must not forget that he has been given gifts. Fought at Canelo weight until he decided he was ready for Golovkin. Failed drug test. Tested positive for Clenbuterol. WBC changes the level of clen you are allowed to have in your system.

Looking past Wilders Resume
MarvelousMarvinGolovkin said: ↑ People do not think about that, do you know how hard it is to beat someone 3 times in a row? Fury should receive more credit for that than he does. No matter how dumb Wilder is, it's just hard to beat someone 3 times in a row like Fury did Click to expand... Fury did NOT beat Wilder three times. He beat him twice. Wilder dropped Fury twice and successfully defended his WBC title against Fury in their first fight.
More Impressive Usyk's win over AJ or Fury's over Wilder?
Boxing News 24 Forum Forums > Boxing > World Boxing Forum > Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by OvidsExile, Oct 10, 2021 at 6:34 PM. They both beat Chisora and dethroned a champion. Has Usyk already accomplished almost as much in the heavyweight realm in three fights as Tyson Fury has in 32 with his latest win? If he beats Joshua again in the rematch does that double his credit? Are we counting number of wins or number of good opponents beaten?
I was wrong about Joshua
Call me crazy, but I still favor Joshua in a possible (if it ever happens now) Fury fight. I think Fury, like Joshua and Wilder before, is massively overrated himself. He has a thin resume, and does very well against certain styles and fighters, but then looks like shirt against others that shouldn't be near him because of the size disparity. Plus, his biggest win is still a stinker with an asterisk, and we still have to see him defend a belt once.
These Quicky Stoppages have Got to STOP
Oddone said: ↑ Takam took way too many unanswered shots at the end. Could he have taken a few more? Sure but to what end exactly? The fight was over and Joyce was raining shots on his temples. He might not collapse today but Jesus he does need to be able to function when he retires. The same people who say “let it continue” will also say “the ref should have stopped it” when Takam falls into a coma in his corner, or develops full on punch-drunk syndrome days later.

Will the haters finally admit that he's better than Canelo and the GOAT?
Heavyweight size - An objective look on the modern "super-heavyweights"
Yesterday, I had a debate with fellow poster andrewa1 regarding Muhammad Alis head to head ability going up against the current crop of heavyweights. He argued that statistically, each generation of The Ring Magazine top 10 heavyweights is taller on average, citing an expansion in the talent pool of the sport.
Judge Who Robbed Gonzalez Suspended
As per the WBA website. "The World Boxing Association (WBA), through its Officials Committee, will evaluate the performance of judge Carlos Sucre during last Saturday’s bout between Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada and Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez. The president of the pioneer organization, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, made the request to the Committee while Sucre will remain temporarily suspended.
Greatest Underdog Fighter/ Most Upsets
I was just thinking watching an interview with the lawyer Alan Dershowitz who is infamous for getting more murderers, pedophiles, and rapists off scott free after the prosecutors had air tight cases than anyone in history. He's regarded as one of the greatest defense lawyers in America, and rightly so. He won more cases that he wasn't supposed to win, with the deck stacked against him than anyone, and that's impressive.
Women Boxing
I wouldnt even see this as a revival. I think this will be a whole new era and break out for womens boxing. The difference with this new generation of Taylor,Adams, Shields is that these are ACTUAL boxers. They've been brought through a system from a young age and are well schooled, technical boxers, the likes of which womens boxing hasnt seen before. Taylor is as technically proficient as pretty much any male boxer, the only difference really being the physical side(obviously).
Is Boxing Harmful To Young Viewers?

I was just watching this highlight clip on youtube from DAZN. It starts with the disclaimer "The following program contains scenes of violence from the very beginning and throughout and is not suitable for spectators under the age of 18." Spectators under the age of 18, not even participants, spectators. You shouldn't watch boxing until you are 18 years old.
Carlos Zarate was once 52-0 with 51 knockouts
