Only when I was young. My school had a room with 20 manual typewriters set up.

On the plus side, it's made news accessible to all, and allowed smaller publications to rival the largest in potential reach.

I don't do fiction.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means not being afraid to ask the hard questions, and to get the answers to the questions you ask, that the public want and need answered
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
A clear email with the facts listed, and then opinions/quotes afterwards.
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I find the truth to be important, and I feel that an informed populace is essential to society.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
My school didn't have one. It did have an annual magazine, and I did work on it, transcribing pieces
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
In 2007, I helped work on a story exposing Comcast's use of Sandvine to throttle bittorrent users. It led to an investigation by the FCC.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Focus on the truth, and getting the truth across the best way you can.
